Atlin post office finally up and running

OTTAWA - MP Taylor Bachrach (Skeena-Bulkley Valley) is celebrating the opening of a new post office in Atlin B.C.

For over a year, MP Bachrach has been advocating for residents of Atlin BC after their post office burned down in September 2022. He held a town hall in Atlin to hear from residents, rose in Parliament multiple times, and met with the Minister of Public Services and Procurement to demand the government take responsibility for providing vital postal services to communities like Atlin.

“The opening of this new post office is an important moment for the people of Atlin,” said Bachrach. “For over a year, people haven’t had reliable access to postal service to send and receive vital goods like medications. We worked together to make our voices heard and we made a difference. That’s something we can all be proud of.”

Bachrach will continue to advocate for improving the federal funding model for rural post offices to ensure communities like Atlin receive equitable, reliable, sustainable postal service.
