MP Bachrach’s statement on binding arbitration for port workers
PRINCE RUPERT – Today, Labour Minister Steve MacKinnon intervened to end the work stoppages at ports in BC including Vancouver, Nanaimo and Prince Rupert. The Minister directed the Canada Industrial Relations Board to enact binding arbitration and resumption of port operations. This comes after the BC Maritime Employers Association locked out the workers last week.
